People are genuinely amazed when strangers can reveal private things about them by reading cards or palms and so forth. They believe that these people are psychic. Psychic is actually a chic word for prophet, (psy ‘chic') which is what they are known as in the Bible. Call yourself a prophet today and people will think you're crazy. Call yourself a psychic and people will think you're cool. (The devil isn't all stupid. He, too, knows how to change with the times.) And why do people go to psychics? For the same reasons they did even before Jesus walked the earth – to find out about the present or future or what have you.

The thing people don't realize is that there is a difference between psychics and prophets. A big difference.

A prophet is someone close to God who has a unique gift to receive certain information from a higher power (the Holy Spirit) concerning some situation or another. A psychic( false prophet) is someone who is not close to God, despite what they would like you to believe. These people are actually allowing themselves to be used by lower powers (demons) and they can only tell you of certain things, unlike that of the Holy Spirit who can tell you of all things.

There were many false prophets way back when just as there are today. 1 John 4:1 - Believe not every spirit, but try them to see if they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Psychics can tell you only so many things and usually these are things you already know: something about your past or something about the present. (They focus on wowing you with things you already know because it's the only way they can prove to you that they are real or that they exist.) The Holy Spirit doesn't usually waste time telling you petty little things you already know. He doesn't have to prove Himself. When He speaks, He usually tells of deep things that pertain to the heart or soul of man, things that truly matter.

Still, it should be known that psychics can sometimes see small details about the future, say if you plan to go back to school, get a new job, blah, blah, blah. How can they see such things? Usually by one of two ways. For one thing, the devil knows everything about you. He knows more about you than you know about yourself. Every dream, every desire, every hope, every plan. He's got your number. And this information is readily available to any psychic who is willing to tap into it. But there's another way, too. Everything that exists now in the physical realm first existed in the spiritual realm. Nothing can be physical unless it is first spiritual. (We direct you at this time to go back and reread Genesis chapter one.) Everything you see around you now was brought into physical manifestation by faith. This includes the path of life that you are now on. For instance, yesterday afternoon you said, "Tomorrow morning bright and early I am going to cut the grass before it gets too hot!" And today your grass has been cut. It was a desire, an unseen thing that, when backed by faith (determination), was brought into existence or manifestation. Hebrews 11:1.- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.

Everything you're planning in your heart today for the future is actually being brought into existence in the spiritual realm right now by your faith, which will eventually cause it to manifest in the natural or physical realm. It's just that simple. Since your future in the physical realm hasn't come to pass yet, obviously it can't be seen with the natural eye. But the "lower" powers or spirits can see it in the spiritual realm because they are spiritual beings. And that's how these psychics are able to tell you of certain things that haven't yet come to pass. Oh, and be warned. Should a psychic ever say something like, "I see an accident going to happen", or some other bad event on the horizon, this is not anything you are causing but this is something the devil himself is planning to put into action and is bragging about. Notice this psychic will not be able to tell you much more about this accident, otherwise you'd be able to avoid the enemy's pitfall. Our advice: STAY AWAY FROM PSYCHICS.

Lower powers are the direct opposite of higher powers. Higher or divine powers seek to bring glory to God. Lower powers or demons seek to bring glory to themselves. And they can only display their powers through humans who allow themselves to be used by them. And once you hook up with the devil, you're in a sorry way. Look, you don't need the advice of a psychic to tell you the things you wish to know so you can figure out which steps to take next. All you need is the Holy Spirit. For one thing, He's free. And for another, He's available on the inside of you. He knows you like no one does and is the only one who can reveal the really intimate details of your life present or future – at least the things that truly matter. John 15:26 - When the Helper comes, the Spirit of Truth, whom I will send to you from the Father, He will show you all things.

And please keep in mind that when you open the door for a psychic to see into your life, you are allowing the lower powers access into your spiritual life, in order for them to ‘read' it, and thereby your physical life as well. Now, ask yourself, why would you take the chance on that? Don't you have enough trouble with what they're trying to screw up for you now?
