FAQ

  • Is Covenant a vanity press?
Absolutely not! We are an independent book publisher. There is a huge difference.

  • How much will it cost to publish my book?
We don't offer packaged publishing but, in most cases, an estimate can be established. Many of our prices are listed on our site to give authors an idea of the finances involved in book publishing, but authors should seriously question any publisher who quotes them a price for their project without even seeing the project!

  • What is publisher recognition?
Publisher recognition is our seal that your manuscript meets with all industry standards. We will not put our good name to any work that falls short of these standards. Books that are published traditionally will always garnish this seal. Books published independently may not.

  • Does Covenant take pricing into consideration with regard to the high cost of publishing?
Absolutely! Many professional book editors charge as high as $12.00 a page for their services. Covenant could easily charge around $8.00 or $9.00 a page and still compete fairly. The same can be said for our book design prices. But CSP recognizes that these prices are simply too high for independent authors. CSP is here to help all authors secure the opportunities they deserve. In fact, CSP was founded by an independent author who, after years of getting shafted by high prices and unprofessional publishers, decided to provide a "safe-haven" for other authors.

  • Does Covenant use templates for their cover designs or allow authors to submit templates for cover designs?
Absolutely not on both counts. Covenant Signature Publishing is a professional book publisher. We do not deal with templates of any kind under any circumstance.

  • How long has Covenant been in business?
Unlike many fly-by-night, book publishers who are here today and gone tomorrow, Covenant has been in the book publishing business for nearly ten years now and our staff has over 60 years combined literary experience.

  • What is "Personal-Pace Book Publishing"?
Many authors who come to us have already been "burned" by fraudulent book publishers. In order to assure authors that we are a professional, Christian book publisher and not a "scammer in disguise", we've developed a service called Personal Pace Book Publishing. This allows independent authors to remain in complete control of their projects as well as provide financial aid to those authors on tight budgets.

  • Is a Publishing Agreement needed for only one service?
Yes. Because it protects both the author as well as the publisher. Authors should never do business with any book publisher who is not willing to provide an agreement for what type of services they will perform and for how much.

  • Can anyone submit for a book review?
Yes, through the Independent Book Reviewers Alliance, of which Covenant is a partner. Independent authors can now get the unbiased, professional book reviews they deserve. Make sure all submission guidelines are followed. The Alliance is very strick.

  • How did the Alliance choose its book reviewers?
Very carefully. They did not hire just anyone off of the street. The Alliance Book Reviewers are all literary professionals and many hold literary degrees.

  • What is the 5-Star System?
The Alliance Book Reviewers judge all book reviews by five main points of review. It is the author's responsibility to make sure his/her book meets those standards to ensure the highest marks and a good book review. Favorable reviews are not guaranteed!
