New authors should learn about book marketing.  There are so many good well know authors out their now new authors do not have a chance if they do not know anything about book marketing.  Without a good plan on marketing the book it will never do well in a bookstore.   As one of the new authors you will need to get your name and book out to the public by book marketing.  So even if your book has best seller potential without marketing it will not sell in a bookstore.
